Why People are Opting for DLP Video Walls

You must have seen those cool and huge display systems in movies or television series. People are shown keeping a watch over it and taking notes or details from it in the control rooms. Those huge displays are technically known as video walls.

Video walls were invented because there was no single display source that was so huge and had a display with high resolution and contrast as well as uniform brightness. A video wall is actually a group of several rear-projection display cubes that are arranged next to one another in order to display different parts of a single image as one. The image or data displayed through the video wall looks very big and seems to come from a single display source. Moreover, it enables several people to keep a track of the information simultaneously and collaboratively.

There are different types of technology involved in the manufacturing and designing of video walls, such as LCD technology and DLP technology. The DLP video walls and LCD video walls are used in the following sectors and industries:

  • Broadcast department
  • Defense
  • Energy
  • Investigative agencies
  • Intelligent traffic systems
  • Power and utilities
  • Public and emergency services
  • Space stations
  • Stock exchanges
  • Government bodies
  • Disaster management centers
  • Surveillance and security
  • Telecommunications
The DLP video wall displays amazing image quality with accurate color depth, brightness and contrast. It helps a person to read and observe data with utmost ease, without causing any strain to the eyes. The video walls are designed in accordance with the latest technology and are installed with a DMD chip. This chip has up to 2 million hinge-mounted microscopic mirrors that can switch on and off up to a several thousand times in one second. It helps the video walls to reflect around 1,024 shades of gray and also create around 35 trillion colors. Moreover, a DLP subsystem has a color filters, digital processing and formatting, light source, optics, a DMD and a projection lens.

The DLP video walls produce 3D-like images that are really sharp and clear. Apart from its excellent display, this type of video walls are widely admired and used for their durability and reliability. Video walls enabled with DLP technology has a lifetime estimate of more than 1,00,000 operating hours and more than 1 trillion mirror cycles. The amazing features and advantages of these video walls have increased their demand in the market.

Enhanced Visual Experience with Video Walls

Delta Video Walls gives viewers an enhanced visual experience. These works as projectors or monitors, arranged to show single large image or multiple image array on a single big screen made up of multiple display units. Usually designed on back projection, Delta ensures minimum gaps between two displays units.

To show data from various sources i.e. multi-sourcing, a conventional video switcher is required to select between different sources. The switcher is controlled manually or by the programming computer. This arrangement allows one moving image to be seen on the screen at a time.

And if more than one image is required at the same time, two options are there. First is to divide the screen into sections which displays different sources. Second being a more flexible option i.e. using the “multi-source” screen which displays several sources required simultaneously.

These are widely used in various industries today, being technologically advanced. The features of advancements are resolution, brightness and light source which builds scope and increases effectiveness of the video walls.

Delta use the following two technologies in this section:
LCD Technology- For vibrant displays, in which messages are seen as bold, bright, and big. It is an ideal solution for those needing it for space-constrained control rooms, can be adjusted according to the desired size, format and display requirements. Built with high quality industrial grade components, it delivers an unmatched image quality with incredible color depth and contrast. Available in High Definition (Full HD) Resolution (1920 x 1080) and in panel sizes of 46” and 55”.

DLP Technology- The Delta rear projections are powered by Digital Light Processing (DLP™) technology. It credits extraordinary image quality along with incredible color depth and contrast. With real experience, it enables easiness in reading detailed data (an important factor in a control room environment). DLP™ technology known for its robustness and long term reliability, estimates approx. 100,000 operating hours using DLP™ chip and more than 1 trillion mirror cycles.

Delta Video walls are ideal for Traffic control rooms, Telecom network, Power control rooms, Utility control centres, etc.
